Premier Juniors unlucky with 1 point loss to Ilen Rovers
Glenville 2-9 (15)
Ilen Rovers 0-16
Glenville hosted Ilen Rovers on Sunday morning in a game of two halves. Ilen Rovers started very strongly scoring 0-12 without reply (including four two-point scores), playing with the benefit of a very strong wind. Ciaran O’Leary scored a penalty for Glenville to see Ilen lead at half-time on a score of 0-12 to 1-0.
Ilen started the second half with a further point to lead by 10 points before Glenville aided with the strong wind kicked in. Josh Cooke kicked three two-point scores, with Tom Dinan kicking another two-point score. Liam Foley scored two excellent points with Adam Murphy scored a spectacular goal from play. The seven scores put Glenville in the lead by two points with eight minutes remaining.
Ilen drew on their strength and experience and pushed hard, resulting in three points in the last five minutes to see Ilen Rovers win the game by a single point.
Glenville will look back at their lack of scoring in the first half, the very impressive second half scoring performance and will rue their lack of game management in the final five minutes in a game that they could have won.

Glenville beaten by Cobh in Junior C League
A busy weekend of games saw Glenville field a third adult team on Sunday against Cobh’s second team. Cobh had a strong squad and drew on some first team players. Glenville performed very strongly with a team made up of a combination of experienced players and some young players.
Paudie Cahill gave an exceptional performance playing in goal for a period and then outfield where he scored three points while Liam Keane was most impressive scoring a goal and a point for Glenville. However, the Glenville effort wasn’t enough and Cobh took the two points from the game with a strong finish.

U16 Div 4 League
Glenville 2.13
Fermoy 3.08
A great battle in Fermoy on a glorious evening for football. Glenville dug out a great victory by the slimmest of margins against a fancied Fermoy side. Well done to the team and Management on a great victory.
