Craobh Scór na bPáistí Uí Mac Coille 2025

Lisgoold Community Centre played host to magnificent 2025 Imokilly Scór na bPáistí Finals last Sunday with the crowd in attendance appreciating the feast of talent that was on offer. 

With a full programme of eleven competitions, talent was aplenty with fantastic displays of dance, singing, music, recitation, novelty act and quiz. The finalists were hoping to be crowned East Cork champion having navigated through the earlier quarter- and semi-final rounds. 

In the first half at 1pm, Carraig na bhFear Iomáint danced their way to glory in the Rince Foirne with their performance of the ‘Sweets of May’ capturing the Micheál Foley Cup with Aghada Hurling finishing as runners-up. Leah Cashman of Carraig na bhFear Iomáint won the Ceol Aonair playing the tune ‘Paddy Ryan's Dream’ with Saoirse Enright of Castlemartyr Camogie in 2nd place. Sarsfields Hurling won the Rince Aonair with Alice Fitzgerald, while Molly Budden McGrath was the runner-up from Aghada Ladies Football. Dungourney Football were victorious in Ceol Uirlise claiming the Johnny O’Brien Cup thanks to their tunes ‘An Gaoth Aneas’ and 'Tripping to the Well' with Carraig na bhFear Peil in 2nd. Stephanie Carr of St. Catherine’s Hurling was the champion in the Rince Seanós while Carraig na bhFear Iomáint took home the May Cahill in Rince Seit for their performance of the North Kerry Set. Cloyne LGFA came out on top in Tráth na gCeist and claimed the Tommy Sheehan cup with Aghada Camogie close runner-ups.

In the second half at 4pm, Ciara McKeon of Dungourney Football sang ‘Only our Rivers Run Free’ to win the Amhránaíocht Aonair competition with Luke Cronin of Scoil Iósaf Castlemartyr finishing in 2nd place. William Connery of Lisgoold claimed the Jim O’Connor cup for Aithriseoireacht with his piece ‘The Hurler on the Ditch’ while Shanessa Piobra from Cobh GAA came runner-up. Castlelyons Camogie sang 'Sé Mo Laoch' and 'Spanish Lady' to capture the Dave Hoare Cup for Bailéad Ghrúpa and Cobh GAA finished in 2nd. The June Daly Cup for Nuachleas was won by Lisgoold for the performance ‘The Rose of Tralee’ while Dungourney Hurling came in 2nd place. 

Carraig na bhFear Iomáint were the proud winners of the Casey-Buckley Memorial Cup for the best club in Imokilly Scór na bPáistí this year.

We wish our Imokilly champions the very best of luck as they go forward to represent the division on this coming Sunday 30th of March at Éire Óg GAA Pavilion, Ovens commencing at 2pm.
