Youghal GAA Supporters Wall

As part of our Facility Development plans, Youghal GAA is building a ‘Supporters Wall’ that will celebrate our great 125 year history. The funds raised will help ensure we can look forward to many more years of success. This is a unique opportunity to be a permanent part of the club’s history, with only a limited number of bricks available to buy. Each brick on the ‘Supporters Wall’ will contain an individual or family name (max 30 characters per brick).

The name or family represented on each brick will remain on our ‘Supporters Wall’ indefinitely for loved ones to come and view, uniting past, present and future members of this great club. You can buy your brick to honour a member, past or present, a parent, grandparent, child, a family member, a friend, or someone associated with the club in the distant past or presently involved. The ‘Supporters Wall’ will give an opportunity to allow families and friends to remember and recognise the names of their loved one’s contribution or association to the club throughout our celebrated history. The monies raised from the ‘Supporters Wall’ will help fund our extensive development plans as outlined on our website, which will benefit our great club, now, and into the future.

Let’s build the future of Youghal GAA by representing the past.

Sponsor a Brick and leave a legacy!

U21 Hurling Quarter Final Match Report

Our sincere thanks to Alan Hennessy for compiling.

Eochaill opened their U21 Hurling campaign away to Dungourney a few weeks ago and had a good start to this year's campaign with a 9 point win 3-14/0-14.

This was followed up with a home game against recently crowned Intermediate A county champions Lisgoold last week where once again Youghal came out on top after a tough game on a 1-17/0-12 score line.

The results of these games saw Youghal top their group and advance to The East Cork Semi-final.

Given the success of East Cork teams at county level and with some going on to play Munster competition, the Board nominated Eochaill to play in the County U21 B Championship.

Eochaill played Cill Mochomóg in the Quarter final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh 4G on Sunday. The team played very well against a team who hadn't played a match in 5 or 6 weeks.

Playing against the wind in the first half Youghal led by 1-13 to 0-4 at half time with the goal coming from James Murray. We also had some great points from Conor Galvin, Devon O Donoghue and Jayden Casey.

Eochaill continued where they left off in the second half and whilst the forward line will get the plaudits, the defence has been outstanding these past few games, marshalled by Oisín Walsh in goal and full back line of Marty, Bobby and Senan, the defence has been the start of many of the attacks and they have no goal conceded in 3 games. Sub Jamie Lenane got two goals in the final 10 mins and the game was well over as a contest before full time. We now play Kanturk or Dromtarriffe in the County Semi-final, probably next weekend at a time and date TBC.

Good to see Enda Cronin back on the playing field after missing most of the earlier part of the year through injury and Oisín Terry Foley back on Sunday from his recent injury.

Panel for 3 games so far:

Oisín Walsh, Marty Desmond, Bobby Nicholson, Senan O'Brien, Enda Cronin, Cùlann Geary, Ronan O’Brien, Oisín Hill (Capt.), Micheál Breathnach, Fionn Hill, Jayden Casey, Devon O'Donoghue, Conor Galvin, Conor Savage, James Murray, Jack Corcoran, Oisín Terry Foley, Jamie Lenane, Brian Lynch, Conor Butler Roche, Chris Buckley, Noah Hegarty, Ralph Cashman, Liam Durkin, Paddy Nicholson, Luke Lenane, Gearoid Geary, Michael McCarthy.

Youghal U21 Hurlers Shine in Championship Victory

U21 Match Report thanks to Áine Martin.

Last Saturday, Youghal U21 hurlers hosted Lisgoold in the Mulcahy Steel Under 21B Hurling Championship. In front of a well-attended home crowd, Youghal delivered a strong performance, securing victory with a score line of 1-17 to 0-12. This win sees Youghal top their group in the competition.

Although the East Cork finals remain unplayed, the Imokilly Board has selected Youghal to represent the division in the county quarter-finals. They will face the Carbery champions, Cill Mochomóg, on Sunday November 24th at 2 pm in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
