Centenary Dinner Dance
Massive thanks to Noreen Cashman and Paula Lynch for taking on the organising of the event. A collective congrats is extended to both of them on a job really well done on what truly was a once in a lifetime event. Congrats to all our award recipients for whom it was an extra special night to remember.
President's Visit
.. and after last Suturday the Centenary show rolls on to this coming Saturday and the visit of GAA President Jarlath Burns to our club. The committee are meeting on Tuesday to finalise arrangements and hopefully there will be a really big turn out for the occasion. The President will arrive at Paddy Walsh Memorial Park at 2pm and will officially open our new All Weather Pitch - some of the club's youngest stars will be in action on the pitch at the time. After a brief few formalities outdoors, attention will switch indoors to the School Hall where light refreshments will be served from 3pm. All are welcome to attend both venues.
Imokilly GAA
Later that evening all attention will be on Garryvoe Hotel as the centenary of the Imokilly Division will be celebrated with close on 300 guests in attendance
Memorial Mass
The Saturday Vigil Mass on November 23rd at 7pm is another date for our club diary as it will remember all our past members and friends. With special involvement from current club members, it is another symbolic occasion in our centenary year. Thanks to Fr Frank for his help and assistance.
Know Your Sports ResultsThe Castlemartyr GAA Centenary Sports Challenge concluded yesterday with Drogheda winning the FAI Cup Final. 35 Events completed. A huge thanks to our good friend Keith Moran for coordinating the event and to our own Joe Stack for all his work on the project. The winner wasn't decided until the last event, - if Derry City had won the cup, Chris McCarthy would have finished 1st, but as a result of Drogheda winning the Cup and Shelbourne winning the League on the last day of the season Peter Fleming came out on Top on a scoreline of 107. The Fleming's were all Drogheda Fans yesterday!. 5th and 6th place were decided by the tie breaker question, how many medals the USA won at this year's Olympics: 126.Gearoid picked 121 to Brian's 112, so was closest to the total of 126, so got 5th place as a result.A big thanks to all who participated.Congrats to Peter and all the other winners.

Pre Christmas Photo Display
One of the features of Centenary Year has been the great interest shown in the huge amount of old photographs that Pat Walsh has managed to dig out on several occasions. There is still more to be seen, along with some great slides from yesteryear and a unique collection of GAA scrapbooks compiled by the late Brendan Wade. All of that certainly merits another gathering and the hope is to convene at Clifford's in early December. More details to follow.
On The Field
So to matters on the field of play and a convincing win by our under 21 hurlers in miserable weather conditions on Saturday last, The 3-17 to 1-11 win against Sarsfield's was a fine all round team performance in which Darragh Joyce, Ciarán Sice and Billy McGann all played starring roles. Billy finished with a personal tally of 2-8, which included goals in the 19th and 25th minutes to help set up a commanding 2-11 to 0-5 half time lead.
Sar's battled away in the second half and the margin was 9 points as the score read 2-16 to 1-10, when Charlie O'Neiil registered the third goal on 55 minutes after some very good approach play. Now a reunion with Cobh on Sunday morning awaits in this Under 21 'C' grade Final, which is a 13 a side competition. Venue to be announced later this week.
Team - James O'Donovan, Oisin Cantwell, Richard Burke, Tom Fleming, Darragh Joyce, David Lynch, Ciaran Sice, Billy McGann, Sean Morgan, Charlie O'Neill, Mike O'Dwyer, Ewan Cashman, Darrragh Leahy.
Subs used - Oran Murphy, Warren Broderick and Alex Broderick.
Meantime in junior football, Ballygarvan will provide the semi final opposition on Sunday December 1st at 2pm. after the win over Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels yesterday. Inniscarra and KIlmacabea will contest the other semi final. The County final is provisionally fixed for the following weekend.
