Under 13’s pipped at the post
Rebel Óg Coiste, Fé13 HL, Group 4A
Watergrasshill 5-2 V 5-5 Nemo Rangers
Last Friday week, In a fairly close game played in Glenville, our gallant U-13 boys narrowly lost out to Nemo Rangers. There was nothing between the sides throughout, out and only to lose out by conceding a few silly frees in the end and missing a few scores up the other end was a tough lesson four our boys. The lads worked hard for the hour and put in a great effort against a physical Nemo team. Thanks also to the U-12 lads who stepped up to help due to a few summer holiday absentees. Well done boys, and keep the heads up.
Rebels go down fighting
Like many who made the trip to Croke Park this weekend, the journey home seemed that little bit longer, given the manner of the defeat. Whilst there was disappointment at the result, there can be no doubting the character of Pat Ryan’s men, who turned their season around from the early rounds of the Munster Championship, when it looked like an early summer holiday was on the cards, to coming with a jersey pull of drawing after extra-time in the season finale. That group of young men should be very proud of the year they’ve had, and we’re sure they’ll rise again. Speaking of pride, indeed we were proud to see Watergrasshill man Daire O’Leary involved with the Cork Senior panel this year and be part of the extended panel in Croke Park. Seeing Cnocán Na Biolraí on the match day program was a sight to behold, and something of which Daire and the O’Leary family should be extremely proud of.
Unique sponsorship opportunity
We recently installed a new electronic scoreboard at Felix Sarsfield Memorial park as part of the ongoing development works to provide the best possible facilities to our players and our community. The installation also presents a unique sponsorship opportunity, so if your company would like to secure a prominent location to advertise your brand whilst showing your support for our club and our community, please reach out to pro.watergrasshill.cork@gaa.ie or contact Paul on 087-6435798 and we would be delighted to discuss.
