IN THE RED OF CORK

It's almost here....All-Ireland Hurling Final day. All roads will lead to Croke Park on Sunday for the much awaited All-Ireland SHC Final clash between Cork and Clare. Congratulations to those luky enough to have gotten tickets and best of luck to those still on the hunt.

It promises to be a great day and we are very proud to have three members of the Cork panel in Conor Lehane, Tommy O'Connell and Brion Saunderson. On behalf of everyone in our club I extend our very best wishes to the three lads and all the Cork players and management n Sunday's Final and hopefully they will end the 19-year-wait to bring Liam MacCarthy back to Cork on Monday next.

If you're in Croke Park early on Sunday don't forget to cheer for our man Michael O'Connell who will be introduced as part of the 1999 All-Ireland winning Cork team on the 25th anniversary of that great win. Our Ladies Football chairman, Brian Sheedy will also introduced to the crowd on Sunday as he will be representing his late father, Fred, who was a selector in 1999.

If you can't get your hands on a ticket then why not join us in our clubhouse in Clonmult Memorial Park and watch it on the big screens in comfort....

CAMOGIE

UNDER 12

Our U-12 (white team) hosted Inniscarra in Park South on Friday night in their second match in Phase 4 of the U12 League. We had played Inniscarra in an earlier phase of the League and knew they were going to be tough competition. While we were tight on numbers due to holiday time, our team were very glad of the strong addition of three U11 players Lucy, Amber and Niamh to our U12 team which enabled us to match Inniscarra both number and skill wise.

It was a great game from start to finish and while we didn’t come out the winners on the scoreboard, the girls played great, particularly in the second half where every girl on the Midleton team played their hearts out and this resulted in a great display of skills for spectators and some fine scores both over and under the bar and a final score that was very close to Inniscarra. So well done girls, we are very proud of you.

UNDER 13

Well done to our U13 girls who lost out to Castlelyons in the Imokilly Bronze final at Fr. O’Neills on Saturday. Though it was not our day to come out the victors, these young ladies left everything on the pitch for Midleton to be proud to, heart, skill and determination was all there until the final whistle.

CORK U-14S

Congratulations to our own Saoirse Murphy Lane (U14) who had a great day out in Ennis on Saturday. Cork won the shield final in their group against Clare. Well done Saoirse and all the team.
